Follow-Up Workshop Has been Organised
from 29th-30th November on "LEGAL PROCEDURES OF OFFENCES BOOKED UNDER
WILDLIFE(PROTECTION ACT),1972 AND ANCILLARY ACTS" This Workshop was
organised by GOA FOREST DEPARTMENT and TIGER TRUST, New Delhi.
Legal
Field Training: Tiger Trust has been looking after monitoring and pursuing
numerous cases related to wildlife offences, particularly those related to the
Tigers. Tiger trust has done recent efforts in assisting tiger trust force appointed
by Hon'ble Prime Minister for tiger crisis.
Legal Training Program: Tiger trust has been involved in
organizing legal fields trainings for the forest affairs, guard, and villager
all over India. The training have been imparted in Forest Academics Dehradun
, Jaipur, goa, hyedrabad , Alwar, National parks in Goa , Sariska ,Bandhavgarh
, AndhraPradesh ,Dhudwa, Ramnagar Training Institute, Jim Corbett.
Medical and Health Awareness Programme:
Regular medical camps have inhaled for monitoring and screening health for
staff and villagers in Sariska national park and Bandhavgarh national park
along with other national places.
Health Education Center:
The patients visiting the clinics are given a program on health and hygiene,
balanced way of life and simple home remedies that might cure simple ailments
like cold, cough, digestive problems etc.
Development of alternate means of energy:
The Trust's aim is to reduce the fuel wood dependency. Therefore we have introduced
bio-gas plants and improved solar cookers in the villages around National
Parks.

Wildlife Research Programmes::
Tiger trust is encouraging the research programme of flora and fauna by proposing
tie up by universities in India & abroad for encouraging young students
as strategy to improve the bio-diversity of in and around national parks.
Tiger Habitat Conservation:
Involves neighborhood communities living around tiger reserves and is of great
importance. We have associated government agencies like Aanganwadi (Women's`
welfare department) and Baalwadi (Child Care Center) for awareness campaigns.
Nature Interpretation for Visitors:
The tourists are being informed of the role of tiger in maintaining the ecological
balance in a forest.
Nature Guide Training Program:- A nature guide training program
has been organized for local youth to help them earn their livelihood through
Eco-Tourism.
Nature Interpretation Programs for Local People: Local people
are also taken for visits to the National Parks for better understanding of
concepts of protected areas.

Educational Program: An education center has been started
at Kailash Sankhala Conservation Centre at Kanha to provide guidance and a hope
and for the children of underprivileged families. It helps to inculcate respect
and responsibility towards the park.
Awards and Scholarships: Anjana Gosain was given awards
for her outstanding contribution towards issues of environment by a leading
eco-friendly hotel Upple-Orchid in 2006 in Delhi. Tiger trust along with state
of Rajasthan gives annual award of Rs.50000 to any individual for his outstanding
contribution in the field of wildlife conservation.
Publications: We publish information material like booklets,
newsletters, posters, leaflets and stickers etc. about nature and wildlife.
Mass Awareness: We work with electronic and print media
to bring about focus on Nature Conservation.
Young Conservationists Program: - Tiger Trust has established
Tiger Cub Club in schools and colleges to bring about conservation consciousness
and active participation of the young force to save our wilderness.
Late
Kailash Sankhla Memorial Annual Lecture: Tiger trust along with world
wide fund for nature organizes memorial lecture in memory of late Kailash Sankhla
in delhi by inviting eminent Speakers. The last speaker was Dr. M.S.Swaminathan
(Chairman of Swaminathan foundation). The Proposed lecture in 2007 is by Mr.
Mike Pandey; Eminent wildlife film maker and conservationalist Green Oscar film
awardee.
